No change in swine show despite virus

A potentially fatal virus found in swine will not affect next month’s Jackson County Fair, organizers say.

Some county fairs are taking extra precautions — including canceling swine shows — because of porcine epidemic diarrhea, which is sickening and killing pigs. “Everything will go on like years past,” Melloncamp said.
