SCIPIO

No one was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon on State Road 7 in Jennings County.

Around 4:40 p.m., a line of vehicles, including two buses from Southwestern School Corp. in Hanover, were traveling north on State Road 7 when the lead vehicle abruptly applied the brakes and turned west onto County Road 900N, Trooper David Owsley said in his report.

“This action caused a chain-reaction crash,” Sgt. Noel Houze of the Indiana State Police said. “The first school bus was able to avoid striking the car making the turn.”
