Not horsing around: Swifty Farms celebrates after Pataky Kid’s big finish

When it comes to horse racing, the name Pataky Kid gets mixed in with Hoof Hearted, Really Fast Horse and Aarrrrrr.

But there’s a little more to the Swifty Farms horse who took first place at the Arlington-Washington Futurity race in Arlington Heights, Ill., earlier this month. Swifty Farms owners Don and Dana Myers said they give the horses special names themselves.

“I name them all using the first letter of the dam’s name,” Dana said.

Because Pataky Kid’s mother’s first name was Princess, Dana had to think of a “P” name. Why Pataky?
