Officers: Youth helped stop domestic incident

Police credit an 11-year-old youth with helping break up a domestic disturbance that led to the arrest Friday of a Jennings County man.

Michael S. Roy, 33, of North Vernon, faces a Class D felony charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement, according to a news release from Officer Justin W. Black.

Black, North Vernon’s public information officer, said Roy was arrested by officers responding Friday afternoon to a report of a domestic violence situation at an apartment complex in the 200 block of East Walnut Street.
