BROWNSTOWN
A farmer opposed to creation of a two-mile fringe of zoning regulation around Brownstown sought support from the Jackson County Commissioners this week.
“In my opinion and those of others throughout the state, municipalities should not have jurisdiction outside their boundaries,” Parke Vehslage told commissioners during their meeting Tuesday.
Brownstown Town Council has started the process of establishing zoning regulations and has agreed to pay a consultant, Eric Kelly, $11,500 to put together an ordinance for future adoption.
