Under the lights in the twilight of the evening and with the match having been decided much earlier in Columbus East’s favor, the No. 1 doubles teams from East and Seymour continued to compete.
For more than an hour after all of the other individual matches were history, Seymour’s Karen Dringenburg and Payton Warren faced off with East’s Lauren Champion and Alexa Hussman to entertain the entire tennis crowd on hand Friday at East.
With neither pair losing focus, Dringenburg and Warren eventually prevailed 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (8) in the marathon duel.
