A proposed $90 million railroad upgrade from Indianapolis to Louisville, Ky., could see the number of trains switching tracks in Seymour build from four to 15 each day.

The proposal by CSX Transportation Inc. and Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co. was filed June 14 with the federal Surface Transportation Board, which regulates the nation’s railroads.

An answer is expected by December. If approved, the railroad would have seven years to complete the project.
