Jackson County residents had an opportunity to learn more about the county’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program Saturday at Jackson County Public Library in Seymour.
Jackson County Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director Stacey Waskom said the program hasn’t had an event focused directly on recruiting volunteers in recent years. Instead, most recruitment happens at sponsored events.
“Most are at speaking engagements, where the focus is on the event, which doesn’t leave a lot of time to talk and discuss,” Waskom said. “This gives the opportunity for community members to drop in informally and get one-on-one information.”
