Open house set for resident’s 90th birthday

An open house to celebrate the 90th birthday of Betty Jean Donahue of Brownstown will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of her niece, Sharon Yost, 3516 W. State Road 258, Seymour.

Family and friends are invited, but gifts should be omitted.

Donahue was born Sept. 7, 1922, at Seymour, where she lived and attended first grade. She graduated from Brownstown High School in 1940 and later graduated from the Cadet Nurses Corps at Indianapolis General Hospital. She worked at hospitals in Seymour and Columbus for 37 years.

She volunteers at Hoosier Christian Village and at Brownstown Christian Church office. Her hobbies include reading, working crossword puzzles and traveling.
