Other county teams take to field Tuesday

During the regular season in softball, Seymour suffered 5-0 and 1-0 losses to Floyd Central.

But when the teams meet tonight in the Class 4A Sectional 15 opener at Jeffersonville, it’s a whole new ballgame. It’s sectional time.

“In our last meeting, it came down to a couple of mistakes on our part. They didn’t make any, and that proved to be the difference in the game,” Owls coach Brian Personett said. “We played Floyd to a 1-0 ballgame. I think (the Owls) proved to themselves they can hang with them. I think mentally we’ve just got to get over the hump of being in awe of some of these teams. If we show up and play, we can compete with anyone.”

Personett said the Highlanders are aggressive on offense and defense.
