Sidney Stout has a storied history of swimming in Seymour.
She grew up around the water with her grandmother being a former high school coach and her mother being a former high school swimmer and swim team coach, and this is her fourth season of the sport at Seymour High School.
“It’s not only that it’s like a family thing and I grew up with it,” Stout said. “It’s that I’m so comfortable with it. I’m comfortable getting in the water. When I’m having a bad day, the best part of my day is coming in and getting back in the water and just taking that anger or frustration out on the water and realizing that I have something that I can connect with.”
