Rain was the only thing that fell into the nets on Tuesday night at C.B. Hess Memorial Soccer Field.
Seymour battled all the way through with No. 6 Columbus North, and the teams ended in a 0-0 draw.
Owls coach Matt Dennis said he and the team knew about the Bull Dogs’ ranking, and he didn’t want that to affect his team’s play.
“I was asked by one of the players, ‘Are we going to go out and play defensive-minded?’ and I said, ‘No. We’re going to go out, and we’re going to play our brand of ball, and we’re going to play it and play it well, and we’re going to learn from that,’” Dennis said. “If we lose by five, if we win by five, no matter what it is, we’re going to learn by the game. We can’t understand what adjustments we have to make before sectional if we don’t go out there and play the way we know we can.”
