Owls can't overcome big runs by Madison

Tribune staff reports

A late run by Madison in Friday’s Hoosier Hills Conference game sunk Seymour, and the host Cubs won 68-56.

Landon Booth sparked Seymour early, scoring 10 of the team’s 11 first-quarter points. He finished with a season- and game-high 26 points, including five 3-pointers.

Chase Salmon later pulled the Owls within 31-29, but Madison responded with 10 straight points and Seymour had four turnovers.

Zak Lucas nailed one of his three 3s in the game to make it 47-40, but again the Cubs went on a run, scoring 11 straight.

The Owls finished 0-7 in the HHC and are 1-15 overall and tonight will play host to Salem, which enters 0-15 after a 53-30 loss Friday to Silver Creek.
