Andrew Bailiff received the most valuable player award and several other honors Monday night when the Seymour boys soccer team conducted its awards program in the school cafeteria.

“He had a great season,” Owls head coach Matt Dennis said. “He led us in scoring with 21 goals. He was able to put the team on his back when we needed him to.”

Bailiff, one of the team captains, was named to the Hoosier Hills Conference first team for the second straight year, and he also was named to the coaches association all-district team for the second straight year. Dennis also announced that Bailiff has been selected to play in a college showcase on Nov. 17 in Indianapolis.

Bailiff and Fernando Cervantes were named co-midfielders of the year.
