Whatever happened between two teams in the regular season can be thrown out when the postseason begins.

On Thursday night in the first round of the Class 4A Sectional 15 at Bedford, Seymour’s baseball team had the daunting task of playing the host school in the first game.

When the two teams met in the regular season, the Owls scored a 9-4 win over the Stars. On Thursday, though, BNL came ready to play and advanced to the second round with a 4-0 win.

“That was not the way we had it pictured,” Owls coach Jeremy Richey said. “To give (the Stars) credit, they got some hits when they needed to. Their pitcher shut us down.”
