For someone who has been a defensive player for a majority of his football career, Elijah Toborg has had two good outings as a running back to start the season.
Through the season-opener against Franklin and Friday’s game at Jeffersonville, the Seymour High School senior combined for 47 yards on 19 carries and 50 yards on eight receptions. He caught the Owls’ only touchdown pass at Jeffersonville.
“I always wanted to run the ball,” Toborg said. “I always thought I could run the ball. It’s fun. You’ve just got to get it and go with it, really. It’s a lot different than defense. Defense, you sit there and you are waiting for what the offense is going to do, and offense, you’re the playmaker. It’s a little switch-up for me, but I like it.”
