The Seymour boys soccer team came up with its most dominating performance of the season Thursday night at C.B. Hess Memorial Field.

The Owls outshot Madison 29-0 and scored four goals in each half to defeat the Cubs 8-0 in a Hoosier Hills Conference match.

Seymour coach Matt Dennis was quite pleased with his team’s performance.

“I came into the match tonight and I challenged them to show me three things,” he said. “We have three goals every game, and the three goals we put forth tonight were work as a team, play with heart and be accountable to your teammates. To a man, everybody did that.

“We said before the game and at halftime that it didn’t matter what the score was, that we wanted to play our game. I challenged them to put together 80 solid minutes, and we did that.”

Andrew Bailiff gave the Owls a 1-0 lead at 37:26 of the first half, Anthony Rork made it a 2-0 score at 33:31, and Kyle Jones added another goal at 13:10.
