As well as the Seymour boys basketball team shot in the first half of Saturday’s first-round game of the Cloverdale Holiday Classic, the tables turned on the Owls in the second half.
They were a sharp 15 of 23 in the first half against Class 2A No. 17 Cloverdale and led 34-26, but the ball just wouldn’t go through the net as often in the second half, as they went 8 of 26.
That frustrated the Owls and caused them to commit fouls on defense, and the Clovers went 11 of 13 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and finished the game 22 of 28 in rallying for a 61-54 victory.
