Senior Elijah Toborg saw a lot of playing time on both sides of the ball for the Seymour High School football team this fall.
Toborg completed the season as the Owls’ top rusher and leading tackler, and for his efforts he was named Mr. Seymour during the team’s awards program Thursday night in the school cafeteria.
“This is a staple of our program,” Owls coach Josh Shattuck said of the Mr. Seymour award. “This is not a most valuable player award. It goes to the kid who best exemplifies what our program is about. This goes to a person who is a leader in the classroom and on the field. Toborg wasn’t going to give 95 percent. He always gave 100 percent.”
