Jessica Lucas’ first love was basketball.

But once she got in the gymnasium around her mother, Angie, coaching the Seymour High School volleyball team, Lucas picked up that sport.

At SHS, she was the varsity setter all four years, helping the team compile a 118-25 record, win the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament once, win sectional and regional twice and make it to the Final Four in Class 4A once.
