A leadoff single by Seymour’s Devon Joray followed by three bunts put an end to Saturday’s softball game.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Columbus East didn’t make a play on Gemma Challies’ bunt toward the third baseman. Kelsey Nolting then put a sacrifice bunt down the first-base line, moving runners to second and third.
Nikki Clevenger continued the trend with a bunt, and as Joray ran in on a squeeze, the throw home went off of the Columbus East catcher’s glove, allowing Seymour to win 3-2.
