Seymour’s offense shifted into high gear on Friday night against Floyd Central, and the Owls rolled to a 42-27 Hoosier Hills Conference win at Bulleit Stadium.
The game was called by officials because of lightning with 2:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Owls piled up 421 yards on the ground, with Tanner Belcher leading the way with 245 yards on 21 carries. Belcher scored touchdowns of 80 and 54 yards. Hunter Klakamp had an 85-yard run only to be caught from behind at the Highlanders’ 5-yard line, and that play set up another touchdown.
“I couldn’t have done it without my line, not just my line, my receivers, my quarterback, everybody,” Belcher said. “We started running to the left a lot. Isaiah (Thomas) helped me out, helped me block.”
Logan Richey had a key block during Belcher’s 80-yard run.
