Owls too much for Lancers

EDINBURGH

Seymour’s size and full-court press were too much for the host Edinburgh girls basketball team in Monday night’s season-opener for both teams.

The Class 4A Owls forced 32 turnovers and shot 44 percent from the field to blow out Class A Edinburgh 78-47.

Senior Sidney Carr, a 5-foot-11 center, led Seymour with 21 points on 10-of-20 shooting. She grabbed seven rebounds.

Senior guard/forward Logan Personett went 5 of 12 shooting from the field 18 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. And freshman guard Morgan Ritz added 16 points and five boards for the Owls.
