Modern, electronic banking practices will bring an end to more than a century of banking history at Second and Chestnut streets in downtown Seymour this fall.
PNC Bank will close its downtown branch at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 but keep its Village Center branch on East Tipton Street open. It also will maintain a drive-through at 223 W. Second St.
The closure raises questions about what will happen to the downtown building and its parking lots.
