COLUMBUS

It will take a major turnaround today if Jennings County has any shot of knocking Columbus East from the ranks of the unbeaten.

The Class 4A No. 2 Olympians put up 304 yards in the first half Friday night in racing to a 39-7 halftime lead over the Panthers, who are 0-3. The game was suspended at that point because of lightning and will be completed at 1 p.m. today.

Despite playing without sophomore star Markell Jones, who has a high ankle sprain, East rushed for 204 yards. Christian Wichman, who stepped in for Jones, carried 10 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
