The Seymour High School Tennis Parents Club is sponsoring the first Seymour Smash Tennis Tournament, set for Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 at the Seymour and Trinity Lutheran high school tennis courts.
The divisions will be ages 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and 18 for boys and girls; men’s open; and women’s open. All registered players in each division will be randomly placed into brackets. Brackets will be posted by Oct. 8 on the tournament website, and they also will be emailed to players providing an email address.
On the day of the tournament, all players must check in at SHS before their first match. Singles will play a regular two out of three sets, and doubles will be single-elimination with an eight-game pro set. All participants will be entered into singles play. The deadline to sign up for doubles will be 9 a.m. Oct. 13 at SHS.
The entry fee, due by Oct. 7, is $35 for singles, and it’s an additional $5 each to also play doubles. Each participant will receive a tournament T-shirt.
