Park officials seek permission for Brownstown soccer field plan

Jackson County commissioners agreed to consider a request from the county park board to build a youth soccer field in the Brownstown area.

“We’ve been working on a five-year plan for the county park and have been doing some surveys,” park board member Larry Raymer told commissioners during their meeting Tuesday night at the courthouse annex.

He said results of some of the surveys show there is a need for a soccer field in the community.

“Brownstown kids play in Seymour but need a place to practice here,” Raymer said.
