Parks Day promotes children’s health, family togetherness

The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department is organizing a new, free event this spring in an effort to get kids outside and more active and to promote family time.

The first Kids to Parks Day will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 at Gaiser Park.

Children ages 5 to 12 can take part in the Gaiser Park Challenge, which will consist of five stations featuring fun activities that focus on physical fitness, said parks director Brent Jameson.
