The Winter Wonders open house at Lake Monroe will celebrate the season with themed crafts and activities and hot chocolate and cookies.
The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 30 at the activity center at Paynetown State Recreation Area.
Lake Monroe naturalist Jill Vance expects to have four to six different crafts and activities. She also will have information about winter programs and answer questions about the lake.
Vance encouraged parents to bring their children for the activities.
“You can stop by for 15 minutes to grab a cookie and make a quick craft, or linger and enjoy all of the activities,” Vance said.
Admission to Paynetown is free during the winter.
Paynetown is at 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington.
