Gov. Mike Pence visited Jackson County on Friday for the first time since taking office to honor three area businesses for their safety records.

The Cummins Inc. Seymour Engine Plant, Aisin Drivetrain Inc. and Marmon Retail Home Improvement Products of Crothersville received the Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards last month from Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Sean M. Keefer.

Pence visited with officials from those companies during a tour Friday at Seymour Engine Plant.
