School revamps prompt busy hunt for signatures

The race to obtain the most signatures on petitions in favor of or against three Brownstown Central Community School Corp. renovation projects totaling $24.8 million crosses the finish line Tuesday.

Just don’t expect an announcement of an immediate winner. Results aren’t expected until March.

Organizers from both sides say they will work hard this weekend to give any registered voter or property owner within the corporation’s district an opportunity to make their wishes known.

“We’re going to be going door to door,” Sharon Yost of Freetown said. Yost and others in the community are opposed to the size and scope of the three projects.

She and other opponents are carrying blue petitions.
