The Brownstown Central softball team is glad it won’t have to face Charlestown pitcher Alli Webster again.

The Braves met Webster twice this season and didn’t score a run in either game. The senior right-hander pitched a one-hitter on Thursday night to lead the Pirates to a 12-0 five-inning win in the championship game of the Class 3A Sectional 30 at Salem.

“I’d like the championship game to be closer than that, but sometimes the other team is just better than you,” Braves coach Monte Ault said.

Webster blanked the Braves 3-0 earlier in a Mid-Southern Conference game. On Thursday night, she allowed one hit while striking out four and walking four.
