A rural Seymour man wants to sell firearms from his home.
The Jackson County Plan Commission will consider his request during a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the courthouse annex in Brownstown.
James Murphy of 8090 E. County Road 100S is seeking a special exception to allow for the business at his residence, which is located on a 3.56-acre lot in Washington Township.
In his application, Murphy said that, if the special exception is approved, he plans to obtain a federal license to sell firearms.
The plan commission will forward Murphy’s request to the county Board of Zoning Appeals with a favorable, non-favorable or no recommendation.
Board meetings at the annex, 220 E. Walnut St., are open to the public and press.
