Planning already underway for city’s annual Oktoberfest

The Seymour Oktoberfest still is months away, but organizers are working to improve the city’s biggest festival and are deciding how to spend its profits.

Over the past three years, the Oktoberfest committee has given back to the city of Seymour a total of $55,000 to reimburse it for some of the services workers provide during the three-day event.

The police and fire departments and parks and recreation put in extra hours to provide security, booth inspections, setup and cleanup.
