Police arrested a 14-year-old Seymour boy Thursday on two counts of attempted murder and one count of arson.

The boy, whom police did not identify because of his age, is accused of setting a fire Wednesday night on East Fourth Street that left his mother and 10-year-old brother hospitalized, Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said.

“He was after the mom,” Abbott said.
