The arrest of a 37-year-old Jackson County woman Thursday on four drug-related charges is part of a six-month investigation that has netted four other recent arrests with the possibility of more, police report.
Brandy L. Burdine of the 900 block of Katherine Court in Seymour was arrested on two Class A felony counts of dealing in a controlled substance, a Class B felony charge of dealing in a controlled substance and a charge of possession of marijuana.
Burdine’s arrest follows four that occurred in late August. Arrested last month were Walter L. Brooks, 64, Crothersville, two counts dealing in a controlled substance; Rocky A. Drake, 36, Seymour, three counts dealing in a controlled substance; Rocky Jones, 31, Seymour, three counts dealing in a controlled substance; and Katrina K. Sons, 26, Seymour, three counts dealing in a controlled substance.
Seymour Police Detective Brian Moore said the arrest of Burdine and the other four suspects is part of a broader trend of people being arrested for dealing in prescription medications.
