A man riding a bicycle on U.S. 31 was struck by a car and killed Tuesday afternoon, Jackson County Sheriff's Department said.
The man's identity had not yet been determined, Sheriff Mike Carothers said at the scene.
The wreck was reported at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 7800 block of North U.S. 31, just south of County Road 800 North. The wreck occurred near Redding Woods, a small subdivision on the east side of U.S. 31.
Police said it appeared both the bicyclist and the car that struck him were northbound when the wreck occurred.
