A Jackson County man was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with what were described as severe burns after police pulled him away from his burning vehicle early Saturday.
Christopher T. Nichols, 30, of Seymour was treated by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel and taken to Schneck Medical Center after the incident reported at 2:31 a.m. Saturday on County Road 850 East south of New Farmington Road.
Nichols was then flown to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Two state troopers and two officers with Seymour Police Department are credited with pulling Nichols to safety, Sgt. Noel Houze of the state police said.
