Police tracking lead on missing Columbus woman

One week after a northeast Columbus woman disappeared, a statewide Silver Alert was issued by the Indiana State Police for 57-year-old Vonda D. Fivecoat.

Fivecoat last was seen at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at her home near the intersection of Beech and Tulip drives in Columbus. State Police say the missing woman, who suffers from anxiety, depression and paranoia, might be confused and disoriented.

Columbus Police spokesman Lt. Matt Myers said one tip was received after the National Center for Missing Adults sent messages to all residents within a 4-mile radius of the woman’s house.

Myers said a resident of Skyview Estates, five blocks northwest of where the woman last was seen, reported seeing a woman matching Fivecoat’s description Wednesday night. Detectives are still investigating that possible lead.
