Police used a stun gun to subdue a man accused of forcing his way into homes, yelling at people and threatening children on New Year’s Day at Country Squire Lakes in northwestern Jennings County.

Levi Hawkins, 20, of North Vernon, faces a Class D felony charge of invasion of privacy and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement, according to a report from the Indiana State Police Post at Versailles.

Hawkins’ arrest occurred about noon Wednesday after the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department received numerous 911 calls regarding a man forcing his way into several homes in Country Squire Lakes near North Vernon then yelling at the occupants for no apparent reason.
