Power outage, low water pressure plague city

Lights flickered briefly in some Seymour neighborhoods while others fell dark for as long as two hours Saturday evening.

About the same time, some neighborhoods reported a brief interruption of water service followed by low pressure that eventually rebuilt.

Seymour Police Officer Jon Watson said Saturday night he was unsure what caused the utility hiccups. He said a number of low-water-pressure alarms were triggered, including one at Tractor Supply on East Tipton Street at 6:33 p.m.
