Power restored for most in area

Utilities continued to restore power to customers following a series of storms that ripped through the region Sunday.

A problem at a Duke Energy substation at Brownstown caused nearly 1,000 Jackson County REMC customers to lose power shortly before 6 p.m.

Those customers were concentrated in Brownstown, Driftwood and Grassy Fork townships, according to Brian Wolka with the rural electric cooperative.
