It is said that if an early Pilgrim had any books other than the Bible, it was John Foxe’s “Book of Martyrs” and John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress.”
Both are books that today’s disciples should read.
Descriptions of persecution are found in each book. Obviously, that’s the theme of Foxe’s book; in Bunyan’s book, the pilgrim Faithful is martyred in the town of Vanity Fair.
