Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will offer a three-session class in letterpress printing fundamentals taught by Don Hill next month.
Classes are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 9, Sept. 16 and Sept. 30 at The Conner Museum of Antique Printing at the art center, 2001 N Ewing St., Seymour.
“I’ll be giving instruction on the history of the print shop, lessons in printmaking with movable type and several printing projects. Upon completion of the course, students will be allowed to use the print shop to work on future private projects with limited supervision,” Hill said.
Hill retired from Seymour High School after teaching 33 years in the areas of art and graphic arts. In 2003, he became director of the printing museum.
Class price of $25 includes all supplies and instruction to complete two printing projects. A 20 percent discount will be given to center members. Class size is limited to seven. Preregistration and prepayment are required by calling Southern Indiana Center for the Arts at 812-522-2278 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
