A program on Human Trafficking will be presented at 6:30 p.m. May 29 at the Bartholomew County Public Library Red Room. Presenter Laura Pope, director of U-ACT, will address the global issue of human trafficking, how it directly affects the citizens of Columbus and action steps people can take to put a stop to this hidden crime.
U-ACT (United Against Contemporary Trafficking) is a grass-roots anti-trafficking volunteer group based in Indianapolis. U-ACT was founded in August 2009. It fills a need for the community to have a tangible way to connect to, learn about and fight against human trafficking.
