County organizations receive $11,000 from state



Jackson County is receiving nearly $11,000 in state funding to promote the arts locally and expand public arts offerings through two local organizations.

The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts in Seymour and Jackson County Community Theatre in Brownstown are among 260 Hoosier community-based arts providers awarded grants from the Indiana Arts Commission for 2015.

Nearly $2.7 million was distributed statewide, including $6,895 to the arts center and $4,080 to the community theater.
