Quilters Holiday event planned at fairgrounds

The second annual Quilter’s Holiday Extravaganza will be Friday and Saturday at Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds in Columbus.

Quilt shops from southern Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee plan to participate, and there will be antique quilts for sale as well as gifts, fabrics, patterns, new quilts, sewing kits, rugs and baskets.

There also will be 100 door prizes, goodie bags, a grand-prize Christmas quilt and a basket of 20 yards of Christmas fabric to be given away.

Sue Tharp from Lake Placid, Fla., will teach two quilting classes. Tharp is a certified Quilt in a Day instructor. Friday’s class is “In the Pines” and Saturday is “Fabric Frenzy.” Both classes include the pattern, rulers and pre-cut fabric for the project. To reserve your place in either class, call 812-216-2225.
