Rain leads to flooded roads; Multiple area routes closed from downpour

At least 10 county roads and two state highways were flooded Monday, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

The East Fork White River was rising from 17.54 feet at 2 p.m. Monday en route to a crest of 18 feet Monday night or early today. Flood stage at Seymour is 12 feet.

The record is 21 feet, recorded on March 26, 1913. That mark was neared — at 20.92 feet — on June 8, 2008.
