For the first time in more than a week, Seymour saw more than just a trace of rain Saturday, but it may not yet be enough to help local crops.
National Weather Service observer Ruth Everhart said Seymour saw 0.52 inches of rain Saturday and 0.03 inches of rain Sunday morning. Before Saturday’s rain, Seymour saw just trace amounts of rain on June 11, 0.06 inches on June 5 and 0.056 on June 1.
With the average June precipitation for Seymour around four inches, the barely 1-inch total halfway through the month seems well off the mark.
