The American Red Cross recently added another app to its growing list of free apps aimed at helping people prepare and recover from disasters and other medical emergencies.
The flood app, released this past week as part of National Flood Safety Awareness Week, gives iPhone, iPad and Android smartphone users instant access to local and real-time information so they know what to do before, during and after disasters and other medical emergencies.
The app includes location-based, audible National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration flood and flash flood watches and warnings that work even if the app itself is closed. Content also is available in Spanish.
